Tuesdays with Kerin: Work, Run, Sleep, Repeat

Happy Tuesday!

Can you believe it's already the last day of my 30-day wellness challenge? Time really flew by, and we're about to step into May! Reflecting on these past 30 days, I'm feeling pretty satisfied with how the challenge went. It wasn't flawless, but I believe I achieved what I set out to do. Considering doing it again sometime soon. If you haven't given it a shot yet, I highly recommend challenging yourself. You might just surprise yourself with what you can accomplish.

Transitioning into the fitness realm, last week marked the kickoff of my 8-week 10K training block, and it started off on a good note. I managed to squeeze in 3 runs, although I did fall short of completing my long run over the weekend. I've been struggling a bit with finding the motivation to exercise on weekends; the temptation to lounge around in bed all day is real. But, I'm determined to tackle my long run this upcoming weekend. It's a 6K, the longest distance I'll have tackled in a while, so it's crucial for me to push through and continue progressing towards that 10K goal. While I don't have any races lined up until Memorial Day, there's a Cinco De Mayo race this weekend that I'm still pondering whether to sign up for or not.

I managed to catch a couple of movies last week - watched  Challengers and even revisited Civil War. My weekend was incredibly laid back and relaxing. I indulged in sleeping in way past my usual hours, spent time watching videos on my phone, dabbled in NBA playoffs action, and indulged in a TV marathon. It was absolute bliss. Despite my teams being out, I'm still keeping up with the NBA playoffs. The games have been decent so far, but I'm expecting the second round to bring even more excitement.

In all honesty, there isn't much else to report on this week. It's been the usual routine of work, run, sleep, repeat. Surprisingly, I'm not complaining about it one bit. I've fully embraced the running lifestyle and all its perks.

Until next week, take care!

Weekly Obsession: Knuckles! The six-episode series event that launched last Friday has completely captured my attention. I can't get enough of it! Yes, it's outrageously silly, but that's what makes it so entertaining! Geared towards a younger audience, this show embodies the unique humor that defines the Sonic franchise. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're a fan of that signature Sonic charm, you're in for a treat. For a more detailed breakdown of my thoughts, make sure to check out my full review.

What I'm Reading: Exciting news - I managed to delve further into The Idea of You this week. However, it's with a heavy heart that I admit I will not finish it. With the movie adaptation premiering on Amazon Prime tomorrow, check out can my full review of the film.

What I'm Watching: Although the season finale of Shogun aired last week, I'm a couple of episodes behind, so I might not catch up until the weekend rolls around. Tracker is still on my weekly viewing list, and I'm holding out hope that it will get better soon. I watched the pilot episode of the Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix. While I'm undecided about continuing with it, one thing's for sure - my latest binge obsession is Knuckles! I've already rewatched it three times and counting! Like I said - I can't get enough it!

Au Revior,

~Kerin
