Tuesdays With Kerin: The Return

Welcome back to another edition of Tuesdays with Kerin! I know, I know, you've been eagerly awaiting my return, right? I'm thrilled to be reconnecting with all of you for our weekly catch-up session. For my loyal followers, you already know the drill, but for those new to the scene, this is where I spill the tea on what's been happening in my world each week.

So, this week has been pretty chill for me. I laced up my running shoes and tackled another 5k race because apparently, I just can't get enough of them. It's my fourth one this year, if you count the virtual race I did to make up for oversleeping on the Lucky Charm 5k. Whoops!

I've been trying to get back into my running groove after taking a little hiatus. It feels like I'm starting from scratch, but hey, I'm determined to push through and get my endurance back. It's probably a good idea to reincorporate strength training into my routine to enhance my stamina for those long runs. Back when I achieved my personal best, I was diligently hitting the weights. Fortunately, my home gym is decked out with all the necessary gear, so I can sweat it out without stepping foot outside.

I've got about 4 weeks left in my 5k training block, and my goal is to conquer a 34-minute 5k. Then, it's on to 10k training. The grind never stops!

Besides my running escapades, life's been chugging along in its usual rhythm – a mix of movies, TV shows, and everything in between. If you're not already aware, I've got another blog now - Kerin's Kritiques. Yeah, I'm sharing all my thoughts on movies and TV over there, so check it out if that's your jam.

As the NBA season hurtles towards an exhilarating finale, I'm excited to catch the Warriors vs. Rockets game this week. It's tough for me since both teams are vying for that coveted 10th spot to secure a play-in spot.
Can the Lakers just go on little losing streak to make things easier for me, please?

Weekly Obsession: Energy drinks. I've turned into a bit of an energy drink connoisseur, trying out all sorts of brands and flavors. C4 and Celsius are my current faves, but I recently gave Monster White a shot and was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's time to give Monster another chance, even though I swore it off years ago.

What I'm Reading: I'm struggling through The Idea of You by Robinne Lee. The author narrates her own book. I thought that would be great given that's she's an actor, but her narration is not quite hitting the mark for me, but I'm determined to finish it before the movie adaptation hits Amazon Prime in May.

What I'm Watching: I've found myself engrossed in the worlds of Shogun and Tracker. Shogun has stolen my heart with its riveting historical drama narrative. If period pieces are your cup of tea, this one's a must-watch. On the flip side, Tracker falls short of expectations, bordering on yawn-inducing. Yet, here I am, faithfully tuning in every week.  Additionally, I've started rewatching Peaky Blinders, which rekindled my admiration for the incomparable Cillian Murphy, or should I say, Academy Award Winner Cillian Murphy. Trust me, this Netflix gem is an absolute must-watch.

Alright, that's it for this week's update. Keep those calendars marked for next Tuesday, as there's bound to be more excitement heading your way!

  1. Happy Tuesday! I’ve become addicted to kdramas. It’s a rabbit hole: once you start, you can’t go back to watching American type dramas again. You must watch them in Korean with English subtitles not the English voice overs to really appreciate them.
