Happy Galentine's Day! 

Get excited that means tomorrow is Frederick Douglass's Birthday! How will you celebrate?  Today is also Mardi Gras in some circles, so Happy Mardi Gras, I guess... Anyway, since it is Galentine's Day, today is the perfect opportunity to get together with girlfriends and have some fun! I'll probably be catching a movie with my sister! I'm thinking Maze Runner: Death Cure, but I don't know.

And I mean actually back. I know in August I posted something quite similar ( maybe verbatim) and then I disappeared for 5 months, so I understand if you're hesitant to trust me again. But I promise you this time, I'm really back and better than ever. Well maybe not better... maybe more or less the same... probably worse... but I digress. The point is that Kerin's Korner is being resurrected!

I know you might have questions about where I've been and why I've been gone for so long. Firstly, I would like to apologize for leaving without giving you any notice. But most importantly, I think you should know, I have absolutely no explanation or reason for my absence. I missed a post one day, and then it became a week, then a month. And I just kept putting it off. I guess the bottom line is that I was just lazy... 

On that same note of laziness, I will be making some changes to Kerin's Korner ... (pause for suspense).   I will not be posting every day.  *gasp*

I think everyday is too much pressure for me right now,  I don't want to burn out, or have another incident of the August Disappearance.  Therefore, I will be taking the weekends off. That way I can use Saturday and Sunday to work on posts for the upcoming week and to recharge. 

BUT WAIT! WHAT ABOUT STORY SUNDAYS?!? Don't worry I did not forget about Story Sundays. As of right now, I need to pre-write a few more chapters before I can start posting again. So there will be no Story Sundays for awhile, but it will come back eventually. Now, when it does come back, it won't be every week. I'm thinking once a month or maybe twice a month. Like I said before I'm taking the weekends off. 

I am also making a slight change in my schedule. Instead of Makeup Product reviews on Thursdays, Thursdays will now be Throwback Playlists, and all Makeup posts will happen on Mondays.  So my schedule will be as follows:

• Makeup Mondays (Tutorials and Reviews)
• Tuesdays with Kerin (Life Updates)
• Watch or Nah? Wednesdays (Movie and Television Reviews)
• #TBT Playlists Thursdays 
• Kerin's Top 10 Fridays 

Well, that's all folks! I'll see you tomorrow with a review of  a surprisingly good movie!

Okay, really this has had gone too far so I'll stop, but wait for it... I'M BACK!!! Miss me?

I apologize that I just went M.I.A. for a couple of months, but I intended to post while I was in New Orleans for my teaching program, but it was a lot more work that I expected. I mean I was working nearly 16 hour days. But I'll save the details for another time, because I wanted to keep this post short and sweet. If you'd like a post all about my summer in New Orleans let me know!

But I'm back now and ready to get back to business!(to defeat the huns)

Life Update: Hit the Road

Hello World!

As you already know from my Saturday post, my sister and best friend graduated from college this weekend! So that was the most exciting thing that happened last week. Last week was finals week, so...

Anyway, right now I'm on the road with my father to pick up brother from Lubbock. So that's like an 8 hour drive! So I'll miss the game tonight! :(

Life Update: Mann's Troubles

Hello World,


So last week was a trying time for my son, Mr. Mann. :( On Tuesday, he had to be rushed to the hospital because he could barely move, and he was gagging and choking, and super bloated. Oh the poor baby was in so much pain. So my sister drove like a mad women to get him to the hospital, and then after awhile the doctor comes out, and says he might have GDV, which is when the stomach gets really bloated and then flips over, thus cutting off blood circulation. And that would be a $3000 surgery!

But fortunately, she went back and got some more x-rays, and Mann was looking better and we were able to bring him home that night, just in time to watch the Warriors game. (He knows what his mother's priorities are!)

But I had to stay up all night to make sure he was okay, but for the most part he just slept, but he would randomly get up in the middle of the night, so I was very tired the next day. Wednesday, he still pretty lethargic, but acting more like himself. He had to be on a special diet of chicken and rice, which he loved.

And he was doing fine until Saturday morning, he started throwing up, and so the vet had to come to see him and luckily they were able to fit him in that afternoon.

His doctor said it was probably allergy medication that was making him nauseous, so I needed to cut down on his dosage and she gave him some special food to eat and it looks like Mann's on the up and up!

In completely other news, the Warriors are 8-0! Going to the Western Conference Finals!!! DubNation!!!

Life Update: It's Almost Over

Hello World!

So it's officially the last week of school! Yay! It's almost over! I have finals next week, and then I'm done!!! And I am already so over school...

And then it's off to New Orleans. I just got an email from the director today saying to expect weekly newsletters leading up to our arrival with "action items".  I'm also supposed to be getting an email from Loyola University this week about housing. I wonder who my roommate will be and what she'll be like.

The 2nd round of the playoffs started this week. I got CLE, SAS, WAS, & GSW #DubNation!!!

Life Update: 04.25.17

Hello World!

So I want to first start by apologizing for not posting on Saturday. I could lie and say I was doing something important, but the truth is I literally spent all weekend watching Boy Meets World (I need help).

Playoffs Updates: The Warriors swept! Go DubNation!!!

The Pacers got swept. :(  Rockets looking to close out the Thunder tonight! Memphis surprisingly tied up the series with San Antonio, but I still think the Spurs are going to win.  Griffin is out, so I think the Jazz might be able to win the series, but it doesn't really matter who wins that series, because they get the Warriors next. Like Dame Dolla said last night, if you ever want to get out the West, you have to go through the Warriors.

School is finally winding now. My professors literally do not care anymore, and neither do I. I have one more test, and then finals, and that's it.

I'm debating whether I should go to Compicpalooza this year. I want to go, but I don't know if i can afford it. I had unexpected expenses regarding my son's health (he's doing better now).  The tickets are $70 each, but I don't if it's worth it. I mean, the coolest person who's going to be there is Anthony Mackie! Anthony Mackie!?!  Oh well, decisions, decisions....

Life Update: Happy Playoffs!

Hello World! Happy NBA Playoff Season! #DUBnation #StrengthinNumbers

I'm so excited the playoffs started this weekend! It's my favorite part of the year - it's like a holiday season for me. And I think the season started off well withe the Pacers - Cavs game, which was really close, but the Pacers couldn't close it out. (PG said he has to be the one to take the last shot!) I am excited to see what happens, but I predict it will be Golden State and Cleveland coming out the west and east respectively for another Finals rematch. 

So, in my last update, I said was thinking about taking up one of the other fellows offer to ride together to New Orleans, and I did end up contacting her, and we're going to iron out the details together later. 

Sorry this post is so short, but honestly I don't have that much to update on. But if you haven't already you should listen to K-Dot's DAMN. It's no I Decided, but it's pretty great!

Life Update: Relay Summer Experience 2017

Hello World!

So honestly there isn't that much to update you on because there really isn't that much happening in my life.  But this summer I have been offered a pretty neat opportunity, and now I'm actually getting kind of excited for it.

So back in February I applied for the Relay Summer Experience, which a summer program for undergraduate students who interested in teaching, where they are trained and teach young students for 6 weeks. It takes place in New Orleans, near Loyola University. I honestly just applied because I really had nothing to do, and no idea what to do with my future, so teaching seemed a well enough option.

Then, a couple of weeks ago, I got offered a position in the program. And then, I still wasn't excited for it. I was just like 'well at least I have something to do this summer'.  But last week, one of the program's recruiter started a Facebook group, I got to 'met' some of my fellow 'fellows', and they seem like cool people. There was even a GroupMe started for the Texas fellows, which there are surprisingly quite a bit of. And some people are thinking of carpooling together to New Orleans, which I think i might take part it.

So yeah, that's it. I guess we'll see what the future holds!

Life Update: Who am I?

Hello World! 

So Tuesdays, I plan to give a little up date on what's going in my life, but since this is the first Tuesday, I can't really give an update, so I thought I would just start with sharing a little bit about who I am. 

So first thing first, my name is technically Erin, but ask anyone who doesn't know me, it's Kerin, no matter if I tell them differently, so I've just decided to embrace the Kerin. I'm basically 30 years old (22 so...), and I'm in what I like to call a transition period in my life. I just transferred from the oh so wonderful University of Kentucky to my local Texas Southern University this semester, due to various unfortunate circumstances. And it has been a struggle, but that's life. And I have to be in school to please my parents, otherwise I would never be doing this college life. I'm currently studying Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science, and I plan to graduate ASAP!

Uh... other things... so my birthday is July 6, making me solidly a Cancer, and yes I do hold grudges like a Cancer. 😏 I have an older 'little' sister and two younger twin brothers, thus making me the middle child. I have a four year old son, who is cute, but mostly obnoxious, named Mr. Mann.

I have an unhealthy relationship with pizza and popcorn. I love all things NBA, and I love going to the movies and sleeping 12+ hours.
