Tuesdays with Kerin: Gardening, Basketball & The O.C.?

 Hello World,

I'm back with another Tuesday with Kerin. Did you miss me?

Spring with Dirt and Flowers

It's been a while since I've done one of these, and honestly I don't have that much to update you on.  Last we spoke, I had a thriving herb garden, and today I can report that everything is dead - well not everything. I replanted my cilantro, so it just recently sprouted, but everything else is dead or dying. Even my sage, which was doing so well. I have no explanation for it. I continued doing all the same things, but they're just not surviving, but hey what are you gonna do? But I'm not giving up. It's almost Spring, which will a great time for reviving my garden. The last frost of Spring in Houston is February 17th, if you were wondering. That's also Ash Wednesday and my brothers' birthday. So I'll going to buy some more seeds and my raised garden this week or next week, and then I'll start these seeds outside, so I don't have worry about transitioning them, and since it won't be cold anymore, they should be fine. But I will keep you updated.

But let's see what else? I've been working, working, and um... yeah working. So all very exciting. But really I'm trying to think, but I don't think I've done much of anything in the last 2 weeks. I feel like I've just sitting in on the couch on my laptop (I work from the couch now) watching TV.  Getting dressed has become a event for me.

I did go see Little Things in theaters, and I quite enjoyed it. But I know I'm biased. It would have had to have been extraordinarily bad for me not to enjoy it. I was going to write a review last week, but I didn't. And I don't know if I'll write it this week. I haven't been feeling inspired to write movie reviews anymore. Even for movies, I really liked. Like it was so difficult for me to write my One Night in Miami review, and I super enjoyed that movie. I don't know. Maybe movie reviews or movies in general are just no longer a priority for me. Can Kerin's Korner be Kerin's Korner without movie reviews? Thoughts? Let me know in the comments.

In other news, I've been super invested in the NBA. Like it has gotten to full blown obsession stage again. I was doing good.  I was only watching the Rockets, the Warriors, and nationally broadcasted games. But last week, I watched the Bulls vs. Magic. These are two of the worst teams in league, and I didn't casually stumble upon this game. I went and found on it on League Pass and I was super invested in the outcome. I didn't care who won, but I just needed to watch this game, and maybe that's a problem - I don' know.

Anyways, looking forward to this weekend. It's Galentine's Day and To All the Boys: Always & Forever comes out! I'm so excited. What are your weekend plans? How are you celebrating Galentine's Day? Or Valentine's Day? Or Frederick Douglass's birthday?

Weekly Obsession:  Beauty Bakerie. When wrote my post about Black Owned Makeup Brands, I completely fell in love with this brand again. See my Valetine's Day makeup tutorial using Beauty Bakerie!

What I'm Reading: I finished  Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. It was great! I then finished Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake. I started it a while back, and I finally finished. It's just okay - nothing special.  I then listened to Beasts of the Frozen Sun by Jill Criswell.  Another okay listen. And then I just finished Existence by Abbi Glines.  I would not recommend this book. I did not enjoy it at all.

What I'm Watching:  I just finished Single Parents. It was my work show, and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it was cancelled so now I need find another comedy to watch. But I am now also super into The O.C. ,which I started watching because of Single Parents. For those who don't know, Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl fame stars on Single Parents, and she is married to Adam Brody from the O.C. and Adam Brody showed up on Single Parents as Leighton Meester's character's baby daddy, and I thought that was cute! This led me to this section of internet where everyone thinks it's super fitting that Seth Cohen (Adam Brody's OC character) ended up with Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester's Gossip Girl character). And that got me curious because I watched Gossip Girl, so I know Blair, but I didn't know this Seth, so I decided to give the O.C. a shot because I think Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are super cute! So long story long that's why I'm watching the O.C.

Au Revoir,

~Kerin
