'Chocolate Brown' Makeup Look

Hello World! Here's a tutorial on how I got this chocolate brown makeup look!

Step 1: Wash and moisturize! I used Origins Checks and Balances Frothy face wash and Origins GinZing Energy-boosting moisturizer. I also used their GinZing Refreshing eye cream for the dark circles under my eyes. I received all these products and more complimentary and free from Influenster for testing purposes. See my review of all the Origins products I got on Thursday!

Step 3: Foundation!  I used Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup in the shade 29 Sienna.

Step 4: Concealer!  I applied concealer under my eyes, along the bridge of my nose, to the center of my forehead and on my chin. Then "baked" with a translucent powder.  I used  Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer in the shade Biscuit and the Sacha Buttercup Setting Powder.

Step 5: Eyebrows! I unfornately ran out of my Benefit Goof Proof Brow pencil , so I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in the shade Dark Brown, and the Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! 24-Hour setting gel to set them. Get Perks! See all active offers at Benefit Cosmetics.

Step 6: Eyes! I used the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette. (1)First I blended the color 'Lockout' into my crease as my transition color. (2)Then I blended the color 'Lethal' into my crease as well, focusing on the outer corner. (3)Then I applied the color 'Blackjack' directly into my crease, to create a semi-cut crease look. (4)I then applied the color 'Faith' all over my lid, and (5)the the color 'Pre Game' to my inner corner and brow bone.

Step 7: Powder.  I dusted off the excess powder from "baking" using the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder in the shade Medium/Deep.

Step 8: Contour! I used Black Radiance True Complexion Creme Contour Palette in Medium to Deep. (1)Using a contour brush I applied the 'contour' shade to my hairline, along my cheekbones, along the sides of my nose, and to my jawline. (2)Using a smaller face brush, I applied the 'sculpt' shade above my brow bone, to my cheeks, to the bridge of my nose,  and to my cupid's bow. (3)Lastly I applied to 'illuminate' shade to the apples of my cheeks, along the bridge of my nose, my forehead, and to my chin.

Step 9: Blush! I used Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Blush in the shade Raspberry.

Step 10: Highlight!  Using my BECCA Opal Glow on the Go Kit, I applied the Shimmering Skin Perfector right above the apples of my cheeks and along the bridge of my nose, and blended it out using my foundation brush. And then for added shine, I applied the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed powder above the apples of my cheeks, along the bridge of my nose and to the tip of my nose using a fan brush.

Step 11: Set! I set my face using L'oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender setting spray.

Step 12: Eyeliner and mascara! I used Black Radiance Eye Appeal Blending Pencil in shade Kohl Navy and the Black Radiance Body Building mascara.

Step 13: Lips! I used the Black Radiance Perfect Tone Matte Lip Color in the shade Mod Mocha.

Step 14: Selfie! Share on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, kerinskorner.com, etc.

Happy Makeup Monday!

Benefit Cosmetics Affiliation

Hello World!

I am so proud to announce that Kerin's Korner is an official affiliate of Benefit Cosmetics!!!  It really isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it means that Benefit saw enough potential in Kerin's Korner being able to make them some money, so they were willing to invest!

Benefit is a cosmetics company based in San Francisco. Their specialty is brow products! I love the
Goof proof brow pencil and Ready, Set, Brow! gel. Now they're having a promotion where you can get a FREE deluxe BROWVO! sample + hello gorgeous makeup bag on any $40 order. Code: HELLOBROWVO! But they also have a wide range of different products, from foundation, blush, and even skincare! The only real drawback is the shade range of their complexion products. I am the darkest shade, and that shouldn't be. So they need to fix that but their brow products are bomb!

So if you're in the market to buy anything from Benefit be sure to use my links!

Enjoy free standard shipping on orders over $50 + samples when you shop at Benefit Cosmetics.

Hello World!

Today is Chris Brown's 28th birthday. Happy Birthday C-Breezy! I have been listening to Chris Brown for over ten years now. I mean his first album came out in 2005. So in honor of his birthday, here are my top ten favorite Chris Brown songs!

La La Land Review

Hello World!  So last week, La La Land was finally released to Blu-Ray and DVD! It's easily one of my favorite movies of 2016, and with 6 Academy Awards, it is also probably one of a lot of other's favorites as well. Anyway here's my review!

Film/ Television Show Information

Name: La La Land

Genre: Musical, Drama, Comedy, Romance

Director : Damien Chazelle

Main Cast: Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling

Ratings

1 = Trash

2 =Meh

3 = OK

4 = Solid

5 = Bomb

Acting/ Performance

X

Comments:
In their third movie together, the chemistry between Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling is still magical and refreshing.

Writing/Screenplay

X

Comments:
This film is about a jazz singer and aspiring actress who fall for each other in LA. Yeah, doesn't sound very interesting, but somehow Chazelle managed to take such a generic plot and make a dynamic and interesting film. It was both funny and tragic. And most importantly it's an original modern day musical, which is hard to create without being cheesy! But he did!

Cinematography

X

Comments:
This film might be a little extra, but it's a musical so it can be. It's all apart of the magic. And this film is very magical!

Costume Design

X

Comments:
I have no real problem with the costumes, expect for the fact that they were nominated for an Academy award for costume design. I mean their just wearing regular clothes! But I will say that I love some the dresses Mia wears. I like both her and her roommate's 'Someone in the Crowd' dresses, and I really like her 'A Lovely Night' dress.

Editing/Special Effects

X

Comments:
Like I said before - magic!

Sound/Music

X

Comments:
I think this still could have been a cute film if it wasn't a musical, but the music is what really brings it all together! The songs and the score are fun, catchy, and moving. So if you don't have 2 hrs to watch this movie, just listen to the soundtrack!

Overall Rating (average the rating numbers above)  - 4.8

Recommendation

I recommend this film to all musical lovers! You'll definitely enjoy it. Also, I recommend to those who enjoy a good romantic comedy.  Now, if you don't fall into either of those categories, then maybe this movie isn't for you. You might still like the film because it is very well put together- production-wise, writing, acting, etc. It's a very well done film, but it does cater to a specific niche. So if you are just not into musicals or Rom-Coms, then no matter how great this film is, you probably still won't enjoy it. So maybe, just listen to the soundtrack! ;)

Au Revoir,
~Kerin
