Tuesdays with Kerin: Rest & Recovery

Hey there, remember me? I'm finally back in action after a brief hiatus. Apologies for leaving you hanging last time - I know I probably caused a bit of a stir among my loyal readers. But fear not, I didn't fall off the face of the earth, just needed a little breather.

Apologies for the lack of an update last week, as there wasn't much to report. I was absent from work for the entire week before last due to being unwell, which led me to attend two doctor's appointments. Although feeling sick is never enjoyable, I am grateful for the time off and the medical consultations as they provided clarity on the issues bothering me.  Stay tuned for an upcoming post diving into my recent diagnosis of PCOS and how I plan to tackle it head-on.

During my recovery period, I hit pause on my usual training routine, but I'm thrilled to announce that I've officially kicked off my 10K training plan again. It feels great to be back on the grind, striving towards my fitness aspirations.

Returning to the office post-sick leave felt like stepping back into a time warp - nothing seemed to have progressed in my absence. It's almost comical how things grind to a halt when I'm not around. But that's enough about work!

The Memorial Day Weekend was a much needed break for me, filled with relaxation and downtime. Although I had plans to participate in a race on Memorial Day itself, I ended up snoozing through my alarm. Truth be told, I wasn't fully prepared for the race anyway after a two-week training hiatus. But fear not, I'm back on track now, gearing up for the upcoming Independence Day 8K challenge.

As for the NBA playoffs, last I left you, I was still undecided my pick of the Western Conference Finals. Well, the Mavs decided for us all, when they easily defeated the Timberwolves in a gentleman's sweep. The Celtics also swept the Pacers. So now we have our finals match setup. My bet is on the Celtics to take it all the way - let's see if my prediction holds true.

Looking ahead, I'm gearing up for an exciting weekend trip to Dallas for Fan Expo. Stay tuned for all the juicy details in my next post.

Until then, stay awesome!

Weekly Obsession: Sporcle! If you don't what Sporcle is, it's this fantastic online trivia quiz platform that offers a wide variety of quizzes covering a vast array of subjects I've been Sporcling non-stop, challenging myself with quiz after quiz. It's become my go-to source for fun and engaging trivia entertainment.

What I'm Reading:  No new reads. Keep sending the recs!

What I'm Watching:  I'm still rewatching Criminal Minds. I'm on season 2 now, but I aslo just finished watching the first season the Criminal Minds: Evolution. Full review here.
