Watch of Nah?: The Greatest Showman (The Greatest Show On Earth)

Hello World,

Happy Frederick Douglass's Birthday!

I don't know if you guys remember,  but a while ago I did a Top 10 post about my favorite movies. Well, my list has change because this is definitely my new favorite movie. This of course being The Greatest Show on Earth... pardon, I mean The Greatest Showman!  I have had the profound pleasure of being able to see this film not just once or twice, but several times, and in my humble opinion it is one of the best. Without further ado, here's my review!

Film/ Television Show Information

Name: The Greatest Showman

Genre: Musical

Director : Michael Gracey

Main Cast: : Hugh Jackman,  Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson

1 = Trash

2 =Meh

3 = OK

4 = Solid

5 = Bomb

Acting/ Performance

This film is all about performance and putting on show, and I think all the actors and performers did an excellent job of translating their characters on the screen. They were all great showmen!

Once you put aside historical accuracy and accept the story for what it is - a story, you can appreciation the writing. It's story of acceptance and courage that resonates with so many. At times, it's very funny and other times it's really sad, but it's always captivating! I think Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon weaved together a very interesting tale.

Simply put this movie is visual masterpiece.  It is literally magic on the screen!

Costume Design

The stage costumes are amazing - from P.T. down to the Tattoo Man! And off the stage, the costume designs are both accurate to the times and flattering.

Editing/Special Effects

This film lost a point for the obviously  fake lions and elephants.

This film gets double points for music, because it's just that great. Even if you've never seen the film, you will love the soundtrack. The story is compelling and the scenes are well-acted, but it is the music that makes this film that Greatest Show on Earth!

Overall Rating (average the rating numbers above)  - 5.0

Recommendation: Watch! 😀

Everyone should definitely watch this film! In fact, you should watch live and breathe this film! But in all seriousness, I recommend this film to everyone unless you just hate musicals. But even then, you might still like this one.  Film critic, Sheila O'Malley, wrote "The Greatest Showman is an unabashed piece of pure entertainment punctuated by memorable songs,"(her Full Review) and I think that is the most accurate description of this film. It is just pure entertainment, pure joy, pure fun, and it's the Greatest Show of Earth!

If they're still available, buy your tickets here! Otherwise, pre-order your copy here!

Au Revoir,

P.S. - You should also download the soundtrack!

Watch or Nah?: A Single Man (2009)

 Hello World, Here's my first movie review of 2021. The first movie I watch this year was A Single Man. I have no particular reason for watching this film, but it was on Netflix, so I watched it.  Film/ Television Show Information Name: A Single Man Genre:   Drama, Romance Director :  Tom Ford Main Cast:    Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Nicholas Hault, Matthew Goode Ratings 1 = Trash 2 =Meh 3 = OK 4 = Solid 5 = Bomb Acting/ Performance X Comments:   All the actors in the film provide outstanding and memorable performances, but the leading role by Colin Firth is outstanding. His performance as George is both captivating and haunting. He manages to portray George's constant grief and constant hiding as he tries to act like a man that has it all together, without giving away too much emotion.  It is superb, but all the actors really bring their actors to life very well.  Writing/Screenplay X Comments:  The basis of the film is really a simple story. It's just one day in a man&#

Tuesdays with Kerin: This is It!

Hello World! This is it! I'm done! I did it! I had my last final today, and now I'm done with the year! YASSSSSS!!! This time couldn't have come any later, because I am so done with school. But alas now I get a reprieve.  Hmmm.. let's see what did I do last week... Well my new found love of Supernatural has turned into full blown addiction. It is literally all I do. I sit down, eat ice, and play Solitaire while I watch Supernatural. I'm over halfway through season 7 now, and it's still good! If I'm not watching Supernatural, then I'm watching the NBA Playoffs, except for the Rockets, because I'm not allowed to watch them. After careful experimentation, I found that whenever I watch the Rockets they lose. As much as I want to be apart of their success, I can't. I'm a bad luck charm, so I must be a fan from afar. But I can watch the Warriors all day! Thankfully, neither DubNation or RedNation, let me down, so we gone have a
