It has
been three days since I started avoiding Landon and Jacob. I think Landon is
starting to get really upset. He keeps showing up at my house, but I never
answer, and he doesn’t particularly like talking to Jacob. Jacob, on the other
hand, seems oddly okay with the fact that I’m not talking to him. When we’re at
our apartment together I give him the silent treatment, and he just carries on
as if nothing’s wrong. Except he hasn’t brought a girl home since we slept
together. I don’t know what to make of it, but I did notice. Regardless, these
last days have been difficult, but now they can end because I have made my
decision.
“I
choose you,” I said coming into Jacob’s room. He was sitting on his bed.
“What
do you want Peyton? I thought you weren’t talking to me,” he said closing the
lid on the bottle of pills I noticed in his hand.
“I want
you. I choose you,” I said ignoring the pills.
“What
are you talking about?” he said.
“Jacob,
I want to be with you,” I said joining him on his bed.
“Are
you sure about that?”
“Yes I
love you.”
“What
about your boyfriend?”
“I
thought you told me to forget about him.”
“Yeah
that was before.”
“Well
if you must know, I am going to his house today to break up with him.”
“Are
you sure you wanna do that?”
“Yes, I
want you.”
“But
Landon’s easier. He’s easy. He mean, yeah, he’s boring and lame and – but it’ll be so
much easier to just stay with him.”
“I know
that us being together will be difficult, but I willing to try.”
“But
Peyton I’ve –”
“I know
you’ve done bad things, and your past is – but whatever I don’t care. I just
want you.”
“Okay.”
He smiled.
“Okay?”
“Okay.”
“I love
you.”
“I love
you too.”
