Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Review

Hello World!  So last week, I got to go to a screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which I was pretty excited about because I really liked the fist one, and I was excited to see what the next chapter had in store! So with that being said, here's my review!

Film/ Television Show Information

Name: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi

Director : James Gunn

Main Cast: : Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista,  Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper,  Micheal Rooker,  Kurt Russell, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn

1 = Trash

2 =Meh

3 = OK

4 = Solid

5 = Bomb

Acting/ Performance

I think this cast is filled with good actors, but some scenes just seemed strained, but I think part that could be because of the writing.

This film was fighting against it's own greatness. It was like it was trying to take all the aspects that were great about the first movie, and force them into this film, but it just didn't work as well. I thought a lot of the comedic scenes seemed forced and strained, and honestly the plot seemed a little all over the place. Like it was just too much going on. But overall it was still a decent story, and it was still pretty funny.

Visually this film is stunning!

Costume Design

I'm counting makeup design also in the this category, because that's what's really exceptional in this film.

Editing/Special Effects

Between the different planets and the fight scenes, the special effects are just incredible, but I honestly expect nothing less!

This is another category where this film was fighting against it's own greatness, because that first soundtrack was bomb, and the music in this film was just not as good. I mean, it was still good, but it wasn't as good as the first one.

Overall Rating (average the rating numbers above)  - 4.3

I recommend this film to people who like action- comedy films, but while I didn't think it was a funny as the first one, it's still pretty funny, and it's definitely an action movie. Fans of MCU should definitely go and watch it. Also, if didn't see the first one, I think you could still watch it and not really feel like you're lost.

Au Revoir,

Watch or Nah?: A Single Man (2009)

 Hello World, Here's my first movie review of 2021. The first movie I watch this year was A Single Man. I have no particular reason for watching this film, but it was on Netflix, so I watched it.  Film/ Television Show Information Name: A Single Man Genre:   Drama, Romance Director :  Tom Ford Main Cast:    Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Nicholas Hault, Matthew Goode Ratings 1 = Trash 2 =Meh 3 = OK 4 = Solid 5 = Bomb Acting/ Performance X Comments:   All the actors in the film provide outstanding and memorable performances, but the leading role by Colin Firth is outstanding. His performance as George is both captivating and haunting. He manages to portray George's constant grief and constant hiding as he tries to act like a man that has it all together, without giving away too much emotion.  It is superb, but all the actors really bring their actors to life very well.  Writing/Screenplay X Comments:  The basis of the film is really a simple story. It's just one day in a man&#

Tuesdays with Kerin: This is It!

Hello World! This is it! I'm done! I did it! I had my last final today, and now I'm done with the year! YASSSSSS!!! This time couldn't have come any later, because I am so done with school. But alas now I get a reprieve.  Hmmm.. let's see what did I do last week... Well my new found love of Supernatural has turned into full blown addiction. It is literally all I do. I sit down, eat ice, and play Solitaire while I watch Supernatural. I'm over halfway through season 7 now, and it's still good! If I'm not watching Supernatural, then I'm watching the NBA Playoffs, except for the Rockets, because I'm not allowed to watch them. After careful experimentation, I found that whenever I watch the Rockets they lose. As much as I want to be apart of their success, I can't. I'm a bad luck charm, so I must be a fan from afar. But I can watch the Warriors all day! Thankfully, neither DubNation or RedNation, let me down, so we gone have a
