Comments:
I felt the acting was good, but nothing exceptional, and I feel like Robinson plays all his roles in a similar way.
Writing/Screenplay

Comments:
This film was more or less your typical teenage romance, but it was well written, and adapting novels into scripts can be a challenge, especially with pace, and I thought this film did a good job of keeping a natural pace for progression.

Comments:
I liked the set design, scenery, and all, but again it was good but nothing exceptional.
Costume Design

Comments:
I felt that clothing, specifically the color of the clothing was a running motif throughout the film, and they did a good job of drawing our attention to the changes.
Editing/Special Effects

Comments:
The "special" scenes inside Maddie's head are cute and you can see thought was put into the creation of those scenes, but also nothing exceptional.
Sound/Music

Comments:
I can't even really remember the score or the music in the film because it didn't really add anything to the story.

Recommendation
First I didn't read the book, so I can't address how well it was adapted, but on principle if you read the book, I would recommend you see the movie, just to see. If you are a fan of teenage romance dramas, then this movie is for you. This is a difficult movie to recommend to anyone else in particular, because it wasn't really exceptional in anyway. It wasn't really good or really bad. I can't see anything just plain hating this movie, so if you're at the theatre and unsure what to watch, then just check it out!
Opens tomorrow, get your tickets here!
Au Revoir,
